Bandwidth boost for Atlantic region

As part of the ongoing expansion of its national licensed wireless network, AirSpeed Telecom has added high-capacity nodes to its network in Magheragh, Co Clare and Bunbeg, Co Donegal. Businesses in the west, mid-west and north-west of the country can now avail of high capacity, rapidly deployable connectivity both for internet access and for private wide-area networks, as well as for voice services.

In both regions AirSpeed Telecom has worked closely with Údarás na Gaeltachta in particular to ensure that uncontended high bandwidth services from 2Mbps to 155Mbps are available to businesses locally. The increasing nationwide availability of high-bandwidth services using licensed wireless technology supports the effective centralisation and virtualisation of ICT resources, even where an organisation's branch offices are located in remote regions. (See our Technology Review article in this issue for more on virtualisation.)

AirSpeed Telecom provides reliable, uncontended, high-bandwidth services of up to 800Mbps to businesses and government organisations, including WARS (Work Area Recovery Solutions), HEAnet, BreastCheck (NCSS), RTÉ NL, Vhi Healthcare and Údarás na Gaeltachta.
