AirSpeed Telecom clinches top 10 place in Deloitte Technology Fast 50

AirSpeed Telecom was among those companies defying the downturn last month by securing a coveted top 10 place in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 for Ireland.

Now in its 10th year, the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 award programme for Ireland recognises business growth and innovation. It bases its final ranking on an assessment of revenue growth over a five-year period. AirSpeed Telecom was the only telecommunications company to secure a top 10 place in this year's awards, ranking seventh.

“We are delighted to have achieved a top ten ranking in this year’s Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Awards," said Liam O’Kelly, Managing Director with AirSpeed Telecom. "2009 has been a great year for AirSpeed Telecom and despite the challenging economic conditions, I’m happy to say that more and more companies are utilising AirSpeed Telecom’s licensed wireless radio network for high bandwidth telecommunications services.”

AirSpeed Telecom was founded in 2003 and built Ireland's first nationwide, carrier-class licensed wireless network to deliver telecommunications products and services to large enterprises, public sector bodies and SMEs. The company increased its turnover by a multiple of 15 over the past five years, achieving an aggregate growth rate of 1480%, compared to the average growth rate of the Fast 50 companies in this year's ranking of 789%.

The company's placement in Ireland's Fast 50 means it now earns a place in the prestigious Fast 500, Deloitte's ranking of the fastest-growing companies across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

AirSpeed Telecom's client base includes RTE NL, TG4, Dairygold, Vhi Healthcare, Údarás na Gaeltachta, HEAnet and the NCSS (Breastcheck).  For more information visit www.airspeed.ie
