North County Dublin switches on to licensed wireless

AirSpeed Telecom's network expansion supports Country Crest's vital ordering system
AirSpeed Telecom's network expansion supports Country Crest's vital ordering system
Rollout of new licensed wireless connectivity has given North County Dublin businesses their first reliable, high-performance broadband services. Fresh produce wholesalers Donnelly Fruit and Veg in St. Margaret's and Country Crest in Lusk are two of the first organisations to use licensed wireless services in the region following extension of the AirSpeed Telecom network into the area.

The lack of a fibre network in the wholesalers' area of operation has meant difficulty in sourcing reliable high performance telecom services from alternative providers. This created challenges for both companies, which supply the domestic market and need to contact suppliers and customers on a 24/7 basis. The AirSpeed Telecom network provides carrier class licensed wireless services that bypass the need for fibre and deliver uncontended broadband direct to companies.

For Donnelly Fruit and Veg which procures, packs and distributes fresh fruit and vegetables from some of Ireland's top growers, the licensed wireless infrastructure provides its first-ever reliable, high-performance connection to customers and suppliers. The connectivity also gives excellent support to Donnelly's mobile workforce, for tasks including PDA synchronisation and remote network access.

Family-run Country Crest, which supplies top quality vegetables to major multiples across Ireland, is using a 5 Mbps AirSpeed Telecom connection with guaranteed service levels to support its mission-critical online ordering system.

"Our coverage in Dublin city and surrounding areas is now 100%," said AirSpeed Telecom Managing Director Liam O'Kelly. "Our licensed wireless network is flexible and cost effectively brings reliable high-bandwidth services to businesses needing uncontended service, backed up with best in class service level guarantees."
